In one partner school district, Educational Directions worked with several schools during the 2021 – 2022 school year. The results speak for themselves. Let’s talk about how we can partner with your schools to improve student performance.
50% of Title 1 schools in that county with 2021 – 2022 gains in total points were schools partnering with Educational Directions for coaching services.
Of the 6 schools in that county that improved their school grade in the 20-21 school year, 5 were schools partnering with Educational Directions.

This playbook, Treating Students like Mental Athletes: A Playbook for Classroom Success, aims to provide educators and school administrators with actionable strategies to begin fostering a culture of excellence and resilience in the classroom. To this end, it provides strategies for the “teacher as coach” approach to classroom planning in addition to the traditional “best practice” approaches to content delivery and assessment.
This playbook delves into critical aspects of the holistic approach of “teaching the whole student,” drawing parallels between the discipline of athletic training and the academic rigor required for student success.
An academic review is a snapshot review of a school/district in operation by a set of observers from outside the school – observers who have been trained to collect, organize, and interpret a variety of data streams.
We have developed an approach to curricula reviews that emphasizes the student focus of the Ed Directions approach to student work.
Our main professional development series, The Rhythm of the Learner Year, is our most popular series, especially when supporting a school entering one of our intervention levels. In some cases, districts have needed additional professional development.
Our professional development courses are customized to meet the needs of the specific district or region with which we are working. There is no one-size-fits-all set of professional development sessions that we would use district-to-district or state-to-state.
Based on the results from our academic review, we tailor a professional development curriculum that not only supports teachers, but also a session on how academic leadership (superintendents, principals, administrators, etc.) can properly support teachers that are on the front lines of dealing with the issues that come to light.
Sessions will prepare participants with strategies to implement changes in culture, climate, work ethic, and data management.
